Maximizing Space on a Minimized Budget

Do you often have friends, family, or guests over for the weekends and are in desperate need of a spare bedroom? Are you going nuts trying to figure out how to turn that extra bedroom that's never used into an office, yet still wondering how to board guests over the weekend? Or maybe you are running out of storage space and closets are now turning into no-mans-land?

Well if any or all of these problems are posing an unsolvable quandary for you and your family, I may have a great solution for you! For this article we'll take a 10' x 12' room for our example.

First off we'll discuss optimizing storage space. Stroll down to your local Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Home Depot, Lowe's, or browse your favorite websites that deal in Home and Gardening products. If you are as frugal as I am you'll shop until you find the absolute lowest price on the planet. A couple of Closetmaid Freestanding Instant Organizer's from our favorite store along one wall of the room can drastically enhance storage space, and will only cost us about $50 - $60 bucks.

For those of us who also spend more than 5 hours a week working at home and in drastic need of office space need not fret. A nice affordable corner desk, also known as an L-shaped desk, can be found at our local Wal-Mart, Office Depot, or local internet store for under $200 dollars. These desks provide a much larger working area, and can be placed in the corner of the room to give an extra 20 square feet of more of open space by arranging it in this manner.

And lastly for all of us who love to have guests stay over, but not enough space to dedicate an entire room to this function, an inflatable air bed is the perfect solution. Within the last couple of years inflatable air beds have grown in popularity. One of the latest additions to these great products has been raised air beds. Raised air beds provide an average height of 22 – 29 inches. Compared to an average 10 – 12 inches for regular air beds, raised air beds give sleepers a more familiar position, a more comfortable sleeping surface, and an overall better night's sleep. To find these great raised air beds head on down to your local Wal-Mart, K-Mart, or drop by http://www.air-bed-mattress.biz for the latest air beds and great deals.
