5 Tips for Maximizing Your Wireless Phone Savings

Here are a few tips for making sure you get the best deals when shopping for wireless services for your company.

1. Wireless services remain unregulated, so the buyer who is the best at negotiation wins the best rates.

2. Don't be afraid to ask for ALL the plans offered by a wireless company. Many times they do not publicize every plan that is available, especially the best deals. Promotions are not always advertised either!

3. Beware of pager protection and cellular insurance, especially if you have a group of pagers/phones. For the cost of the insurance you are paying per pager/phone in a group, you can purchase a new one (or more than one!) each month.

4. If you are paying for long distance and roaming charges on your wireless services, call your provider today. Most carriers offer plans with nationwide calling with NO long distance or roaming charges applied.

5. Keep in mind that wireless equipment is specific to each provider. Phones are programmed to be used with one carrier only. With this in mind, be sure that you include new handset costs as an expense item when reviewing rates and plans from alternate providers.
